Introduction of my blog

Well, here I am,using a computer... successfully. A first for me and, speaking of firsts so is this blog. My very FIRST blog dedicated to my media studies.
Let me take a moment to consider what I like about media...hmm...I like media because*types into Wiki "media studies"* Media studies is an academic discipline and field of study that deals with the content, history and effects of various media; in particular, the 'mass media'.
Being truthful now I suppose the reason I choose Media is that I knew so little about it and I, being the inquisitive being that I am, was curious. Within a few short weeks I've been introduced to the vast ( and far more complex than I realised) world of Media and I have soaked up all that I've learnt like a sponge and am keen to learn more and eager to put it into practice. This blog is my media coursework and all the steps I will take to creating my coursework will be documented here.

Media has the ability to pry, to unmask, to manipulate its audience however, on the other end of the spectrum it also has the ability to enlighten, to connect. Media bares all to its audience whether they want to see it or not .On a final note I wish to say that personally I believe without the Media we would be aware of so little and truly, who wants to be kept in the dark?
So now I leave you with a well chosen quote from William Bernbach “All of us who professionally use the mass media are the shapers of society. We can vulgarize that society. We can brutalize it. Or we can help lift it onto a higher level.”
